The democratisation of private equity

Tuesday 11 July 2023 | 18:30 - 20:30 | Evening Event

This session has been organised by CFA UK's Private Equity Special Interest group

A look at the various ways that small investors can get started in private equity

Previously the only investors in private equity were large institutions. Now, through exciting initiatives like a PE index/ETF vehicle or a (SaaS) platform designed to enable private equity to compliantly streamline and scale their distribution to private individuals, private equity is becoming open to everyone.

This event will provide a comprehensive view of a number of new initiatives in this area.

Learning objectives:

  • Improve your knowledge of the structure of private equity funds
  • Why it was difficult to allow small investors to be LPs in private equity funds
  • Explore the use of IT in private equity investor onboarding
  • Understand the democratisation of private equity
  • Learn about how to structure a specialist ETF
