Speakers

Sam Livingstone, Head of Data Science & Data Engineering, Jupiter AM

Prior to his current role at Jupiter AM, Sam was a data scientist in global equities (now international equities) at Citadel. Prior to that, he worked as a quant researcher sitting on the quantitative equity products (QEP) investment desk at Schroders, as a quant analyst at Willis Towers Watson after beginning his career in trading at both IG Group and Ion Trading in 2010.

Nikolaos Sotiriou, Data Science Manager, HSBC AM

Nikolaos Sotiriou has extensive experience in the financial sector, specifically within asset management and credit risk. His knowledge and understanding of investments across multiple asset classes, combined with his ability to apply machine learning, has enabled him to successfully implement strategic solutions such as novel credit risk models and trading database solutions.

Dion Kraanen, CFA, Director of Analytics, M&G plc

Prior to joining M&G, Dion worked as the Head of Investment Analytics at Prudential Portfolio Management Group, the team lead of Quant Development at NN Investment Partners and Equity Portfolio Analyst at ING Investment management. Dion is a CFA Charterholder and holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance & Economics from the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.

Carlos Salas, CFA, Portfolio Manager & Data Scientist

Carlos Salas is a Portfolio Manager, Data Scientist, and freelance investment research consultant. His career spans investment firms such as BNP Paribas AM, LCAM and Jefferies International. In addition, Carlos is also deeply committed to educational and research initiatives as university visiting lecturer, lead the CFA Data Science Working Group; and as a past advisor for the IFRS Foundation. Carlos is a CFA and CQF charterholder and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business & Economics, MSc in Finance and postgraduate education in Data Science and Machine Learning.
