Deep dive into the world of impact investing with Christine Chang, Head of Impact, Apposite Capital. 

Christine will use a case study to show you how to measure impact. She will share how her company developed KPIs for their portfolio, how targets were set and what they meant for implementation and practice.

Christine will also shine a light on how engagement and communication were developed and what lessons were learnt. From Christine you will learn:
- What impact KPI’s were developed for portfolio company and how
- How targets were set and what they meant in terms of implementation and practice
- How engagement and communication was developed
- How impact was measured

Christine will be joined by Ben Dawson, Chief of Staff, HCML Rehabilitation. HCML Rehabilitation is a healthcare provider company working with people with life changing injuries, clinicians, insurance companies, hospitals. Ben is working with Christine while HCML is going through their own journey of measuring and proving impact. He will share lessons learned and what is involved in achieving this.

Christine Chang, Head of Impact, Apposite Capital

Christine Chang is supporting the design and delivery of Apposite's impact strategy, as it looks to stay at the forefront as a health impact investor.  Previously, she was a member of the Executive Committee and Investment Committee at Big Society Capital, one of the UK's leading impact investors.  She sits on the board of Thera Turst, a national charity that supports over 1,500 people with a learning disability.  She is also an Investment Committee Member of Snowball, a diversified multi-manager impact fund investing in funds which contribute towards social equity and environmental solutions.

Ben Dawson, Chief of Staff, HCML

Ben Dawson is the Chief of Staff at HCML, a healthcare provider that coordinates and case manages rehabilitation. HCML works in the personal injury litigation, private medical insurance, and corporate occupational health & wellbeing markets. Ben joined HCML in 2015 and has held a number of positions across the organisation, all of which have required a relentless focus on combining continuous improvement, profit maximisation, and achieving the delight of our customers and their clients/claimants/members/employees.

When Ben first met his partner, he told her that he was never leaving London, that he was never getting married and that he would certainly never have children. They married in 2019 and live in West Sussex with their two children.

Amelie Montague, Investment Director, Better Society Capital

Amelie is an Investment Director at Better Society Capital, the leading financial institution dedicated to impact investment in the UK.  She leads on sourcing, due diligence and portfolio management of fund & co-investments across venture capital, growth equity, listed & unlisted debt, and residential real estate. She manages a £150M portfolio and leads the investment risk function for BSC’s 30-person investment team.  Amelie is an Investment Committee member of Crisis Venture Studio, a Board Director of RCB Bonds plc, and a Board Trustee of Bexley Mencap, a charity that supports people with learnings disabilities in the Bexley borough.
