Affiliate Membership
Organised by CFA Institute, Affiliate membership connects you directly with the full range of CFA UK membership benefits, along with global resources that actively support your career in investment management.
As an Affiliate member, you’ll become part of a respected network of investment professionals, attend CFA UK events and webinars, and use tools designed to accelerate your professional development and career progression.
You’re eligible for Affiliate membership if you:
- Have a minimum of 12 months of acceptable professional work experience
- Agree to the members' agreement and professional conduct statement
- Provide three professional references (or two, if one is from an active CFA UK Regular member)
Affiliate membership is ideal for professionals building their finance careers in the UK. It opens doors to deeper engagement with the investment community and delivers valuable learning and networking opportunities.

Regular Membership
Whether you're advancing through the CFA Program or already established in the investment industry, Regular membership with CFA UK equips you with the tools and community to actively drive your career growth in finance.
As a Regular member, you’ll unlock all core CFA UK membership benefits, including free networking events for investment professionals, expert-led professional development sessions, and a vibrant investment professional network. You’ll also access exclusive resources from CFA Institute to accelerate your career and broaden your professional connections.
You’re eligible for Regular membership if you:- Have passed the CFA Program Level I exam or the Standards of Practice Examination
- Have completed at least 4,000 hours of relevant professional work experience over a minimum of 36 months
- Agree to the members' agreement and professional conduct statement
- Provide three professional references (or two, if one is from an active CFA UK Regular member)
- Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent education
If you’ve completed the full CFA Program, you’re eligible to become a Regular CFA Charterholder member—receiving all member benefits plus the prestige of the CFA designation. We honour your achievement at our biannual Charterholder ceremonies, a standout moment in the CFA UK events calendar.

Local Membership
There are multiple ways to become part of the CFA UK membership community—one of the leading professional membership bodies for investment professionals in the UK.
Our Local membership gives you full access to exclusive benefits, including our programme of in-person and virtual CFA UK events, expert-led CPD finance courses, and a growing network of investment professionals.
You’re already eligible for Local membership if you are actively enrolled in the CFA Program, or hold one of the following investment qualifications:- IMC (Investment Management Certificate) – full qualification (both units complete)
- Certificate in Climate and Investing
- Certificate in Impact Investing
- Sustainable Investing Certificate (Certificate in ESG Investing)
- CFA Program Level I
- Associate exam (ASIP)

ESSENTIAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Our membership year runs from 01 July to 30 June. While Local membership only gives you membership of CFA UK, Regular and Affiliate membership also includes membership of CFA Institute. Regular and Affiliate members will also need to pay the CFA Institute fee. Irrespective of your date of renewal, the full rate for the year is still applicable.

Local Membership
The annual membership fee for the 2025/2026 membership year is £145.00. New members can take advantage of prorated membership depending on the time of year you join.
