An intro to PropTech, an industry overview and what problems companies are trying to solve using technology.

PropTech is a new trend but it’s here to stay. It is a relatively new industry that sits in the crossover between venture capital and real estate investment. 

PropTech can help accelerate the ESG agenda, where better understanding and collaboration in the investment world is needed. Attendees who are aware of these trends will gain a competitive edge.

Ivo van Breukelen, Managing Partner, The PropTech Connection

Ivo is the Managing Partner at The PropTech Connection, which is a global PropTech advisory business that works with (institutional) real estate investors + companies.

Ivo is a leading origination and investment tech specialist. He has held a number of global leadership roles within the PropTech ecosystem and brings an excellent international commercial real estate and construction network with PropTechs, tech buyers and investors.

Ivo is highly regarded as a dealmaker who is both efficient and trusted. A PropTech expert, he is a previous guest lecturer at both Harvard and MIT.

Kingma Ma, Managing Director, PropTech1

Kingma is based in London and joined the PropTech1 team in 2021 to focus on generating and analysing UK PropTech investment targets. Prior to joining PropTech1, Kingma worked as both a PropTech-focused venture capital investor at Round Hill Capital as well as a company founder in the social work industry.

He is passionate in growing an active network of both investors and operators in the UK startup community. Kingma comes from a family of high-quality cashmere producers that supplies some of the top luxury brands of the world.

Jorge del Carpio, Chief Operating Officer, Building Minds

Jorge del Carpio is a banker turned Fintech entrepreneur now providing innovative solutions to real estate organisations dealing with decarbonisation, and asset portfolio management.

he has experience in corporate & investment banking and digital lending startups.

 Yann Idelsen, Founder FundRE

Yann Idelsen’s professional finance experience spans both real estate private equity and structured finance. Yann has successfully transacted over EUR 2.7 bn of European commercial real estate investments and financings.

Prior to founding FundRE, he worked at The Valesco Group, a pan-European investment manager. Yann closed and managed several European real estate investments across core/core+ and complex restructuring, growing the portfolio of the company from EUR 300 million to EUR 1.75 billion within 17 months. His responsibilities included deal sourcing, full underwriting and due diligence process, SPA negotiation, financing, third-parties onboarding and strategic asset management.

Prior to joining The Valesco Group, he worked in the debt and equity raising team at HFF, a publicly listed global provider of real estate capital market services advising on over USD 100 bn worth of transactions annually.
